CV90120-T STRIFE | LIGHT BATTLE TANK
Strife's prime objective is to provide supreme fire power and accuracy against all targets on the battlefield, while being easily air deployable. This is achieved through a combination of the extreme mobility features of the CV90, a modular concept of survivability through stealth design, ballistic armour, warning receivers and countermeasures and last, but not least, dominant battlefield awareness, with a battlefield management system and three sights, operated independently by three members of the crew. An additional positive feature of this vehicle is the support and life cycle costs, which are considerably lower than the costs of a main battle tank.
The vehicle's engine is an uprated 600kw (804hp) Scania DS Diesel, and is equipped with a Perkins X300 Series x4 speed forward and x2 reverse transmission. The vehicle has a top road speed at 70 kilometres per hour, with a road range of up to 600 kilometres.
The main armament of the Strife is the Rheinmetall 120 LLR L47 (calibre Length 47). The optimized barrel, use of advanced materials, the recoil buffer system and integrated gun cradle result in reduced weight and lower recoil for use in lighter-weight fighting vehicles. It is capable of firing all New Hayesalian-standard 120mm ammunition, with storage for 45 shells. A bank of eight grenade launchers is mounted on each side at the front of the turret. A bank of eight grenade launchers is mounted to front left side of the turret. Turret traverse is a full 360º. Turret traverse and weapon elevation are hydraulic with manual controls for emergency use. The ELT is fitted with an automatic ammunition loader located in the left side of the turret that gives the capacity to fire 12 rounds per minute.
Further armaments include a 7.62mm M240 machine gun, and a remote Model 50 12.7mm heavy machine gun.
