PD-100 BLACK HORNET | MINIATURE DRONE
The PD-100 Personal Reconnaisance System (PRS) provides the modern day warrior with a game-changing piece of equipment for instant use on the battlefield. The personal pocket-sized ISR capability allows immediate situational awareness for soldiers executing dismounted operations globally. The system provides real-time live motion video back to the operator and the opportunity to take snapshots during missions. Combat-proven and with a range exceeding 1.6 km, the PD-100 PRS represents an operational capability available to military units. It is issued to combat units at the section level in New Hayesalian service, often carried by riflemen. Operation of the Black Hornet is done through the tactical pad of the 9LANDs Battle Management System.
With a total weight of 750 grams (not including 9LANDs tactical pad) and no assembly required by the operator, the PD-100 PRS is a completely organic system. The system contains two self-contained Black Hornet 2 nano sensors each weighing only 18 g. Due to the low kinetic energy of the sensors, the PD-100 PRS is classified as an inherently safe system.
The nano sensors have extremely low signature both visibly and audibly. This allows for effective use of the system on covert missions. The onboard camera is electro optical with a pan, yaw, and tilt capability. Live video and images can be transmitted the operator and onwards.
Built-in GPS, internal sensors and automatic pilot functions makes the sensors very easy to maneuver and operate. This system allows for execution of ad-hoc missions as well as pre-planned missions using waypoints and input from the operator. The basic training course to become an operator only takes two days.
