new hayesalian MARINES
The Crest of the Marines depicts a scene of a Javelin IFV transitioning from sea to land, achieving the amphibious mission the Marines. The Hayestolian Sun, anchor and surrounding wreath symbolise the Marine's mission to the Nation, at Sea, and on Land.
Established on the 12th of March, 2011, the NH Marines were formed, their ranks formed of former Army members and sailors occupying a specific mission - to conduct amphibious combat operations for New Hayesalia's security and constitutional obligations.
The Marines sail alongside the New Hayesalian Navy, acting as a patrol force for the NH Military able to respond anywhere in the world en masse for any mission called for by the New Hayesalian Government.
A crossection of sailor and soldier, the Marines are a small branch with a big mission and are a core part of the Military's capabilities.
The New Hayesalian Marines uniform is worn as part of daily duties. The uniform is a dark sepia brown colour, worn with a white undershirt.
Class 1 Uniform, seen to the left, is worn for ceremonial and important occasions, including arrival and departures from port, and on duty for a number of senior Marines members. The Class 2 variety of this uniform removes the belt, whistle and gloves of the Class 1 uniform, usually worn by officers. Summer and winter variants ensure wearers can handle the heat.
The uniform is a unique design, which draws on the designs of the amphibious units maintained by each Union country throughout the 18th and 19th Centuries. The gold trim of the uniform represents the Hayesalian Sun and distinctly identifies Marines against their Army counterparts.
Unless otherwise entitled, members of the Marines wear a Sepia Brown Beret the same colour as the coat, with the Marine Crest.
Members of the Special Forces Legion, after attaining Commando qualification, wear the Black Beret with the Marine Crest - though specific units wear their unit insignia (such as BASTION or the CBRN Response Unit.)
As is standard across the Military, Military Police wear Scarlet Berets with the Marine Crest, and members of the Amalgamation Guard wear Teal Berets with the Coat of Arms insignia.
