PROTECTOR | SUPPLY SHIP
The Protector class supply ship is equipped to support naval operations. The Protector is equipped to conduct Replenishment at Sea (RAS) with solids and liquids. Helicopter operations are supported, allowing for vertical lift of supplies. The vessel also offers additional medical capacity as needed. It is a support vessel, most often seen as part of a larger combat fleet. Protector class vessels are also used in two-ship global patrols alongside Decatur class frigates, supporting replenishment of deployed New Hayesalian ships, supporting New Hayesalian mariners across the world, and helping to end the scourge of piracy and slavery.
Protector Class vessels are designed to support the logistical needs of large forces. The Protector class carries a maximum load of the following materials:
The vessel is equipped with a powerful deck crane, capable of lifting 25 tonnes. The Protector features four Dual Purpose Underway Replenishment Masts which are used for replenishment of fuel at sea.
Ergonomic design and a multitude of elevators, as well as wide storage spaces and climate controlled sections, speak to a vessel designed to carry fighting equipment from the outset. The vessel features an Integrated Bridge System, for safe sailing and optimal control of
navigational equipment. Air traffic control facilities support the operations of two EC725 Caracal helicopters.
While Protector class vessels typically travel with an escorting Decatur frigate, it equips two Millennium Gun CIWS systems and two remote operated .50 calibre machine gun ports. Other defensive systems are installed.
