As a vessel of the New Hayesalian Navy, Brown class research vessels support naval objectives by charting areas of naval interest.
The vessel is equipped with 10 integrated laboratories, and has a surge capacity of up to 13x 20 foot container laboratories. A steel gondola located 1.2m below the hull equips a powerful sonar system. Two retractible drop keels support scientific investigations including water sampling and biological sonar.

The vessel is equipped with a dynamic positioning system and bow thruster, allowing for stable positioning in rough seas for scientific purposes.
