The AirFrame Augmented helmet is a refined model from Crye Precision offering miltiary grade Level IV protection to New Hayesalian soldiers in the battlefield.
Designed with a vented shell, the AirFrame helmet allows the passage of air, cooling the soldier's head and providing an extensive level of comfort and reducing the impact of explosive blast waves. Weighing between 2.3 lbs to 2.75 lbs, the lightweight helmet is made of two main parts which provides more coverage to the soldier than similar combat helmets, while reducing weight significantly.
It is fully compatible with night vision equipment, other attachments, and ARC rails. It also mounts additional ear, mandible and chin protection plates where appropriate for the protection of the soldier.
The Airframe Augmented is a part of the Individual Soldier Ensemble, seen here.
The AAH is a Level III rated helmet, meaning it is capable of withstanding up to six 7.62mm rounds impacting. It also features light gel lining which lessens energy transfer.
The CCH is worn with the Improved Headset, which interfaces to the 9LAND battlefield management system; providing the following capabilities:
The CCH also has an integrated optics/GPNVG mount, helmet camera, tactical flashlight and gasmask-friendly mount. The CCH's standard night vision optic is the NH-GPNVG panoramic night vision goggle setup. The NH-GPNVG combines traditional available light amplification while incorporating thermal (infrared) imagery overlays. The CCH is generally worn with a Head Sock, which provides anti-flash protection and can help protect the identity of soldiers in some situations. The Head Sock has a more breathable face section, which the Face Plate connects to when worn.
